Forty years in Suffolk.
A lifetime in
homeopathy

Meet the woman behind the practise

JEAN POWIS, REGISTERED HOMEOPATH, SUFFOLK

A closer look at who I am, what I believe in, and the training that shapes the care I offer.

It began long before the training did.

Jean arrived in Suffolk over forty years ago already using homeopathy, not as a practitioner but as a mother trying to get through daily life with three young children, a new home, and a husband working long hours.

A tissue salt called Ferr Phos for colds at the first sign of illness. Then Nat. Phos for the indigestion that came with the stress of settling into an isolated village. Then Arnica, given to her after a car crash,
which reduced her pain and shock considerably.

These were not dramatic moments. They were small, specific things that worked. And they stayed with her.

Jean Powis, Registered Homeopath & Mindfulness Teacher

After more than three decades of using homeopathy for herself and her family, Jean trained part-time for four years at the Centre for Homeopathic Education in London.

She learned from some of the most established homeopaths in the country, and for two years attended the student clinic in Covent Garden, managing real cases and undertaking detailed case studies before qualifying in 2020.

She is also a trained mindfulness teacher, and runs occasional courses and retreats alongside her homeopathy practice.

Holistic Healing Through Experience

Thirty years of using it. Four years of studying it.

A Journey of Healing

Why The Homeopathic Garden?

Jean lives in the Suffolk house where she raised her four children, together with a Springer Spaniel known as Madame Houdini.

She has been gradually adding healing plants to her garden. Many homeopathic remedies come from plants, though not all of them do. The name felt like a natural fit.

What Jean brings to a consultation

Jean comes from an educational background and has always been interested in children, psychology, and the emotional factors that sit beneath physical symptoms.

She takes a full history, researches every medication a patient is taking, and looks carefully at whether what someone is experiencing may be connected to what they have been prescribed.

She is not in a hurry. She is not there to judge. She is there to listen and to find what fits.

Jean's Homeopathic philosophy.

"I’ve always been attuned to the emotional world, noticing what others feel, sensing what goes unspoken.

That sensitivity led me to psychology early on, and over the years it has become my greatest strength as a therapist.

I became a clinician to help people understand their inner world, heal old wounds, and build a relationship with themselves that feels kind and steady."

Jean sees patients of all ages, face to face in Suffolk or online. She runs introductory homeopathy courses for those who want to understand the principles before booking a consultation, and mindfulness retreats throughout the year.

Outside the practice she enjoys country dancing, drama, music, theatre, philosophy, and meeting people from all over the world.
